I am currently without indemnity insurance for births which means that I am unable to attend births at present, even as a supporter. As and when this situation changes I will update this site.
Normally I mainly attend women having homebirths, as this is my particular field of expertise, but I can accompany women into hospital if they chose to give birth there. I am, however, unable to give hands on care as a midwife in hospital, so would act in the capacity of doula/birth supporter/ advocate.
I will go on call for your birth from 37 weeks pregnant. When labour has started and you feel the time is right I will come and be with you; I will normally call a second midwife when the birth is imminent. I will remain with you for at least 2-3 hours after the birth, to ensure all is well.
