About Me

I have been a midwife for twenty eight years and I am still as passionate about my job as I was when I started.

I believe birth is a simple yet profound everyday miracle, and I feel very blessed to have been able to share this experience with so many families.

I trust in and respect a woman’s innate power and strength, and her baby’s instinctive wisdom during birth.

I see my role as midwife to be a calm, supportive presence not only during birth, but also throughout pregnancy and early parenthood.

I am experienced in homebirth, waterbirth, VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean), HBAC (homebirth after caesarean), lotus birth (when the placenta is left attached until separation), and can, with the support of colleagues, assist breech and twin birth.

I live in Didcot with my husband, (my three daughters have flown the nest), and various interesting animals and since May 2014 I’m loving being a Grandma. I also work 12 hours a week (flexibly!!) as a Community Chaplain; I run, knit and am an ardent football supporter.
